Welcome to our blog! It's way too hot for me to be out in this heat so, I have adopted my blog to be my pet project for the summer. Bear with me, its definitely something new to me, but I think it's a great way to keep everyone updated on all the cool stuff that comes into our great little shop in Brawley.
I took a few pictures of some beautiful new merchandise that has come in. More specifically the Talavera, this is a type of ceramic pottery that is very traditional to Mexico. It is amazingly decorated with vivid bold colors, it is fired and glazed 3 times so besides being absolutely gorgeous to look at you can pot it and not worry about it disintegrating. The quality is excellent!
We also have a great new line of Plasma cut and hand painted wall art, some accented with clay and glass. These beautiful accents are imported from an area known to be the heart of all that's handcrafted in Jalisco, Tonala.
We just received a shipment of our ever popular concrete planters, benches and garden decor. The perfect accessory for the outdoors in this neck of the woods. Solid concrete, reinforced with rebar and beautifully finished in elegant concrete stains.
Feel free to contact me for any questions, our summer store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. And we are still open from Tuesday thru Saturday. till next Post... Vanessa

- We are a family owned business, you can tell by the (tricycles in the driveway. We are a melting pot of rustic furniture and Mexican Imports. We pride ourselves in providing unique and excellent quality products that give your home a rustic flair. In addition to our retail store, I am an artist with a background in graphic design. Since 2006, my studio has been nestled in the back where I enjoy creating whimsical folk art richly influenced by my mexican roots, spirituality and the love of being a woman not to mention my adoration for the artist Frida Kahlo, My love for the arts transpires to others by holding fun workshops geared towards teaching mexican traditions. My projects are eclectic and often lead me to learn new methods and skills to get them to fruition. Power tools are my friend and you'll commonly see me hunting for gadgets and supplies at the local hardware store when my creative juices flow. From quirky handmade signs that give you insight to my philosophy on life to intricate paper mache Catrina dolls, jewelry, paper crafts, aprons and pillows I love mixing colors and medias to bring my ideas to life.
